SPLASH SKATEBOARD PARKS ALMOST FINISHED IN WESTFIELD
Full Description:
The new Westfield splash and skateboard parks are nearing completion, but a grand opening will not be planned until spring.
Curt Cooley, parks and recreation director, said the splash park at Quaker Park, located at Indiana 32 and Dartown Road, has a splash pad installed and the restroom facilities are 90 percent complete.
The skateboard park at Asa Bales Park on Hoover Street has equipment installed and the shelter and restroom facilities are 60 percent complete.
The design for the skate park was produced with the help of Westfield High School students.
"We decided to invite the local students to our planning sessions to ensure we were designing a product that would be utilized by the local community," said Jerry Rosenberger, town manager.
Cooley said the town is excited that these two new features are coming to Westfield.
"We want residents to have the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful park features and for local children to have a safe and exciting place to play," he said.
